Polywarp Studios recently collaborated with iTown, an indoor entertainment venue located in Newton Abbot, Devon, to create an unparalleled AR experience. This interactive tour was designed to bring themed rooms and spaces within iTown to life, offering visitors an engaging and educational journey. One of the highlights included an immersive dinosaur encounter where visitors could witness lifelike animated dinosaurs that moved, roared, and shared fascinating facts about their species. From towering Tyrannosaurs to swift Velociraptors, guests found themselves face-to-face with the prehistoric giants, making their visit both thrilling and informative.
The AR adventure didn’t stop at dinosaurs. Polywarp Studios designed an interactive zoo experience showcasing majestic lions, powerful rhinos, elegant elephants, and zebras, each complete with engaging facts and educational details. The zoo room became a virtual safari where guests could observe animals in action. Additionally, we introduced a digital theme park into iTown’s central space. With a tap on the provided tablets, visitors could animate theme park rides, creating an atmosphere of excitement and wonder that seamlessly blended technology and traditional fun.
One of the most visually captivating aspects of the AR experience was the aquarium room, which we transformed into an underwater paradise. Visitors marveled at great white sharks, sea turtles, various colorful fish, and vibrant coral, turning the space into a living ocean with digital overlays. The journey concluded with a venture into the solar system, where young explorers were treated to an immersive 3D model of the sun and planets. This feature not only entertained but also educated visitors about the solar system’s structure and planetary order.
To enhance convenience, the app was designed as a purchasable experience, available both in-venue and online. Upon arrival, visitors received a tablet that served as their interactive window to the digital world. Complete with AR photo capabilities, guests could capture memorable moments and receive the photos via email at the end of their journey, boosting iTown’s social media presence. Additionally, the app featured venue navigation with a detailed map that highlighted AR interaction spots and provided helpful guides to enrich the user experience.
Polywarp Studios delivered the iTown AR adventure project within just five months, ensuring that every requirement was not only met but exceeded. The result was an engaging, educational, and fun-filled experience that cemented iTown’s status as a must-visit attraction in Devon.
